Cleaning rims

Necessary supplies to clean rims:
- Two buckets (1 bucket with car shampoo and 1 with water)
- Car shampoo & wheel cleaner (and tyre shine or tyre dressing)
- Wheel brush
- Washing glove & towel
Step by step cleaning:
1. First of all, make sure your car is out of the sunlight. Wheel cleaner will otherwise dry up too quickly. It is also important that before you start cleaning, the brakes are properly cooled. You can choose to disassemble the tyres, so you can better clean the rear sides, however, this is not necessary;
2. Clean the tyres and rims first. You can do this with a garden hose or a high-pressure cleaner. This way, you will remove the loose dirt;
3. Allow the rims to dry. For the best result, a wheel cleaner must be used on a dry surface. Make sure you have a suitable rim cleaner for your rim type (such as alloy);
4. Next, spray the rim cleaner evenly over the rim. Leave this work in for a few minutes (also read the instructions on the product);
5. Then, use the wheel brush. Wet it and then brush the dirt of the rim. This can best be a rim brush with harder hairs;
6. After you are done, start cleaning the rim with a softer wheel brush. Dip it in the bucket with car shampoo and brush the rims again;
7. Spray the rims clean again with a garden hose or high-pressure sprayer;
8. Dry the wheels with a soft cloth;
9. Now that the wheels are nice and clean, you can treat them with wax. This makes it harder for dirt and brake dust to stick on the rim.
Cleaning car tyres
