You can find the location by looking it up in the instruction manual of your car. Once located, remove the filter housing cover and remove the actual filter. Before assembling the new air filter, we recommend that you thoroughly clean the filter housing with a damp cloth. Once you have done this, assemble the sport filter back in the right location.
K&N air filters cleaning
As already described, K&N air filters don?t have to be replaced regularly, because they can be easily cleaned. K&N filters are washable. It is recommended to thoroughly clean the filter every 20,000 kilometres. Normally this would be the replacement interval of a standard air filter. We recommend using the K&N air filter cleaning kit. These products are specifically designed for cleaning K&N air filters. Please note that if you use the wrong cleaning products you may damage the K&N air filter. Cleaning the air filter is easy, for which you can follow these steps:
- Disassemble the K&N air filter;
- Spray the cleaning agent on both sides of the filter and let it soak for about 10 minutes;
- Rinse the air filter with tap water (don?t use a hard jet);
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the filter is completely free of dirt;
- Then let the filter dry;
- Now you can oil the filter. Spray the oil evenly from a distance over the filter. Leave the oil on for about 20 minutes;
- Re-install the K&N air filter.
