Some use every 6 thousand miles as a rule of thumb, while others perform an oil change every 9 or 12 thousand miles. In general, we recommend to change engine oil every 6 or 9 thousand miles. Using this interval ensures that the engine oil stays clean and will not negatively affect the engine performance. Driving less than 6 thousand miles a year? Then we recommend to change engine oil every year.
